Caden Curtis

I’m watching Eady work in his front yard,
Trying to change the tires on his wife’s car.
He’s smoking, talking bout the rain
That’s gonna come.
He’s a stumbler.
Like me.
Screw loose, dollar short, day late.
Underpaid, homesick, and laughing
Just enough to keep from crying.
Like living in a hotel room with the lights out.
Just trying to find the door.
Caden James Curtis is a singer-songwriter based out of Adam’s County, Nebraska. He mainly draws from characters he has met, as well as his own life. Using sparse, simple, honest language he captures the highs, lows, and in-betweens of rural life in the southern and midwestern states, one sad song at a time.
